Peacock (revisited)

Found a tedious model, the peacock... unable to resist the temptation to start folding it...
My previous peacock was pretty average, a very simple and down-to-earth attempt with a few very, erm... a few flaws la... this new model is not perfect but made attempts for improvements... designed by Jun Maekawa, its one of the most tedious models i have ever ever folded, it seems easy... but try folding it from a Crease pattern, just collapsing the model to the base will kill you.
Attempt number 1...

Pretty decent, but decided to do something stupid, thought the tail part could be improved... the idea was to create patterns by creasing lines in an alternate manner, hence, by more repetitions, i can create a more majestic tail... boy, it didn't occur to me that the closer the lines, the more lines, the tougher it gets when you collapse the model to the base. The difficulty increases exponentially, it took me 45 mins to do the first one, but it took me near 3 hours to do the second... but... satisfied... haha... yes... not bad... pursuing perfection? haha...
2nd try...
Midway through
Collapsing...
Finally...
Try it... this is the crease pattern
