Pinky in Perth... Part 4 (AQWA)

Next stop was a trip to Aquarium of Western Australia (AQWA). Its not as big as think it would be, its almost the same as in Sentosa, but the marine animals, like turtles etc are definitely cleaner (at least not moldy). Just take a look at the pictures. I simply love the jelly fishes...

At the entrance of AQWA, on the wall... got something that looks awfully familiar... Art club should know... the decor looks like my 'A' level's art project... Pinky was ahead of his time ok... but the difference is what they have was a photo while my art project is painted with oil... Haaaa~ brings back memories...

Pinky in Perth... Part 3 (Little Creatures)

Well, up next, we drove down to Fremantle, initially planning to have Cicerello's for dinner, together with Danny, Miriam and Weiliang, but they were closed for that day, perhaps we went too late or something. The other restaurant, Kaili's was also closed... Oh shit... so what to do, go to a bar nearby, called "Little Creatures" for dinner.

Little Creatures is an interesting place, but its really really expensive. Its something like a brewery at the back and you can actually see how they make their beer, ale whatever there is. Its kind of an open concept which makes it really interesting. Nothing fantastic but not a bad place to visit. Must try the ales and chilli mussels there!!! And also the wood-fired pizza, especially the leek and potato, darn yummy...

But we returned there again the next day, determined to have seafood. Contemplating between Kaili's or Cicerello's, we decided on Kaili's since gin have tried Cicerello's before. According to gin, the fish at Cicerello's is nicer but Kaili's oysters are juicier and lobsters are slightly better... No wonder they have loyal crowds although they are like just side by side..

After food, take a walk nearby, cos its near the sea, you see alot of seagulls, i was so excited.. first time see seagulls... so swakoo, then u can walk to baskin robbins for ice-cream... wonderful... try world-class chocolates.. recommended by Gin.. and its darn smooth...

Food in Australia is like super ex... but its the norm.. requires some getting used to... :P

4-leaf clover...

Pinky had a dream again... dreamt up the folding of a 4-leaf clover... it is derived from the base as the kawasaki rose leaf from youtube... kawasaki also used the same case for a 3-petal leaf. Its kind of like an improvisation rather... This is prototype one...

It is folded from two pieces of paper... the stem is stick on... Now prototype 2...

It is folded from one piece of paper, a 2 x 1 rectangle...

This is how the behind looks like... This is not exactly easy, its more like moulding than folding already... So its like very much more difficult than the 3 petal kawasaki leaf.
Then there is the 3 leaf clover which is a more common site... its done from a square piece of paper... and looks like this...

These are all inspired by the 3 petal kawasaki leaf which looks like this...

This is folded by Pinky too...

Pinky in Perth... Part 2 (King's Park)

First real tourist destination was a park near UWA, called the King's Park. Its a scenic and beautiful place, lots of beautiful trees... the way the trees curves... the branches...the grass... and fresh air, cool weather... i love it!!

Gin embracing mother nature....

Me taking the path to "The Secret Garden"...

Gin and me... so loving right?

In a corner of the park... there is a "duck pond" where ducks swim... its so relaxed and comfortable watching the ducks swim. We were watching, watching then me and gin decided to chase the ducks.. haha, when ducks run, they wag their 屁股 when they waddle.. so comical... then they will go to the edge of the point and hop, "plonk" into the water... and i ask her to chase again so that i can take a video... haha...

Taking a slow walk through the park, i've never felt so "good" in a very long time.. but it also depends on who you walk the park with. Singapore lacks such places, its really the place where u get inspiration.. i should have came here during my A levels art project.. but oh well, still got A muahhahaha (*haolian)!!! Reaching the edge of the park, its a breath-taking view of Swan River and Perth city. According to locals, swan sometimes swim inside the river.. thus the name... the night view is equally sublime.

But going to King's park at night to watch the lights, be careful, cos this is a real life experience. Me and Gin were driving home from King's Park at night after watching the city lights, when we saw a white sheet fly towards us and over our car roof. As it passes, the roof crackled and screeched. I was like stunned. On both sides of the roof were super tall trees so its not the branches, and there were no street lamps so i didn't have a very clear view but it was definitely something. I thought it was just me, so i turned and asked Gin, "You saw that?" She was like "No?" But she was slowly sliding down her seat, so I asked again, "You sure? I saw like an apparition or something..."
Then she yelled at me "YES! YES! I SAW IT!! YOU JUST HAD TO ASK AGAIN!!!" Then she went like "AHHHHHH!!!" for like 30 secs... Creepy~...
